April 2012

Dear Business Partner:

On behalf of the Elizabeth Williams Foundation and WES Productions, we would like to thank you for your time and sponsorship consideration of Madison’s First Fridays.

I would like to take this time to give you a brief history of the Foundation and how it operates. The Elizabeth Williams Foundation was founded in March, 2000 in honor of Dwayne "DJ Chill" Williams’ mother who was an advocate for helping less fortunate children in the community.  Mr. Williams has made a conscious effort to continue in the spirit of his mother by naming an organization in her honor.  The Elizabeth Williams Foundation hosts a monthly networking and social fundraiser called "Madison’s First Fridays".  As the name indicates, the fundraisers are held on First Friday of the month in Madison, WI. We also host events around the holidays. The proceeds are donated to local community agencies as well as awarded directly to families in need of emergency financial assistance.

From 1999 until 2003, each month Madison’s First Fridays were hosted in hotels venues such as the Best Western Inn On The Park, Madison Concourse Hotel, and The Sheraton Madison Hotel.  The outcome of the event provided fundraising opportunities as well as addressed Madison’s “Brain Drain” issues amongst Madison’s multi-ethnic professionals by establishing a forum in which to network, announce employment opportunities, expand business collaborations, and socialize in a relaxed upscale setting.  The entertainment selection alternates between live performances to various top DJs from around the Midwest.  All participants are strictly volunteers. The proceeds are allocated to local charity organizations to support qualified families in need of financial assistance and towards administrative expenses. All donated items are presented as door prizes and to winners of the business card raffles.

The Foundation has been extremely successful in its mission and has given the chance for many in the community to give back.  An Outstanding Community Leadership commendation by the Mayor of Madison, acknowledgment by the State Legislature and recognition by the Wisconsin State Journal and Capital Times are testaments to the success of the program.

Historically in 2003, Mr. Williams received an academic scholarship and moved to Illinois to complete his Graduate degree. Since then, Madison’s First Fridays has been dormant.  Mr. Williams has recently returned to Madison, and is seeking to make Madison’s First Fridays a significant impact in the community again.

In the past, our sponsors have given Madison’s First Fridays the level of support that made a considerable difference in our “bottom line”.  We are seeking your support as a sponsor to allow our organization to maintain a large portion of the donations. In addition to support this worthy cause, your establishment benefits from promoting and targeting potential profits from Madison’s diverse professional.

As stated, our goal is to keep overhead at a minimum so that we can donate a greater proportion to the community.  We advocate for your sponsorship and collaboration in this endeavor to support our efforts to assist those in need as we make a difference in the Madison community.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via phone at (608) 358-4415.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
