Funds raised are handled by The Elizabeth Williams Foundation (EWF) Executive Committee. The Elizabeth Williams Foundation wasfounded in March 2000 in honor of Dwayne "DJ Chill" Williams’ beloved mother who was an advocate for less fortunate children in the community. Madison First Fridays proceeds are donated to local community agencies and awarded directly to families in need of emergency financial assistance.

Madison First Fridays’ staff consists of a diverse Advisory Board and supportive volunteers. Absolutely NO ONE receives compensation. The donations are used to cover administrative costs, hors d' oeuvres, entertainment honorariums (except WES Productions staff), professional security, and to award needy families emergency financial relief. The Foundation has received written recognition from the Wisconsin Legislature, the City of Madison, Wisconsin State Journal, Capitol Times, along with other organizations for Outstanding Community Service.
